The person behind Cell Devices
About Dan — iPhone repair,
trade-in & refurbished phones.
Most places won't touch your broken phone. I will — because I actually know what to do with it. Apple Self Repair trained, Samsung & Google certified, 4,000+ devices processed.
Hi, I'm Dan
I run Cell Devices — a UK-based business built around one simple idea: most places won't touch your broken phone, but I will. Because I actually know what to do with it.
It started with my own iPhone SE. Screen went, couldn't afford to replace it, so I fixed it myself. By the time I was buying broken phones off Facebook Marketplace to repair and resell, it was less of a decision and more of an inevitability.
I'm 25 now. The tools are better. The knowledge is deeper. But it's the same curiosity. Whether you need a repair, want to sell or trade in, or looking to buy a refurbished phone — everything is handled by me, personally.
The journey
Honestly it started way before phones — I was always taking things apart. By 13 I was fixing computers, modding them, eventually building my own. Read more ↓
Became the person everyone called when something stopped working — friends, family, didn't matter. Not because I studied for it. Just because I genuinely wanted to know why things broke.
That never really changed 😅
I cracked my iPhone SE and couldn't afford to replace it — so I just fixed it myself. That was the start of everything. Read more ↓
Looked up how to do it, bought the part, made a mess of it first time, tried again, got it right.
Then started buying broken phones off Facebook Marketplace, fixing them, selling them on. Learned everything by doing it wrong first tbh.
Yeah — went into professional repair and basically absorbed everything. Samsung and Google certified, warranty repairs, insurance jobs for major UK banks. Read more ↓
Thousands of devices. Phones crushed by cars, submerged in water for hours. The ones most shops look at and hand straight back.
Fixed them. Every one.
Started it completely alone. No business experience, no mentor, honestly no idea what I was doing half the time. Just built it from scratch. Read more ↓
Built the grading system, the processes, figured out the buying and selling side. All of it from scratch. Made plenty of mistakes along the way.
Stressful? Yeah. Worth it? Definitely.
Things are moving. 4,026 devices. People are enjoying the service — the reviews mean a lot.
Still every device personally handled. Still the same curiosity. Just with better tools 🙏
readThe experience behind every repair
Over the course of my professional repair career I've completed intensive manufacturer training programmes, hold certifications from Samsung and Google, carried out warranty repairs on behalf of major manufacturers, and handled insurance repairs for some of the UK's biggest banks. That's the standard I work to every day.
My specialism is iPhones. Apple has historically kept their repair ecosystem tightly closed, which means most of what I know I built myself — through years of doing it, getting it wrong, figuring it out, and doing it better. I regularly fix phones that other shops have looked at and handed back. If someone tells you a repair can't be done, it's worth a second opinion.
What happens to your device
From the moment you drop it at the Post Office to getting it back — here's exactly what happens.
Step 1 — Postage
You drop it at the Post Office
Dan sends a prepaid Royal Mail Tracked 24 label once the repair is confirmed. Just scan it at any Post Office — no packaging costs, nothing to pay. Fully tracked from the moment it leaves your hands.
Step 2 — Arrival
Dan receives it and messages you
The moment your device arrives, Dan messages you on WhatsApp to confirm it's safely in. You're never left wondering where it is.
Step 3 — Inspection
Full inspection before a single screw is touched
Dan checks the device thoroughly — confirming the fault, assessing overall condition, and making sure everything matches what was discussed. If anything unexpected comes up, you're told before anything is done.
Step 4 — The repair
Repaired properly — not just patched
The repair is carried out using quality parts, to manufacturer standards. No cutting corners. Dan has done this thousands of times — on devices other shops have handed back.
Step 5 — Testing
Fully tested before it leaves
Every function is tested after the repair — screen, cameras, Face ID, battery, connectivity, buttons. If anything isn't right it gets fixed before it goes anywhere near a box.
Step 6 — Sent back
Packed carefully and posted — Dan messages you
Your device is packed and sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24. Dan messages you with the tracking number so you can follow it home. Usually with you the next working day.
Step 7 — Done
Back in your hands — with a warranty
Your device is back, fixed, tested and working. Covered by a 12-month warranty on parts and labour. Same fault comes back and it's not accidental damage — Dan fixes it.
Step 1 — Quote
You get an instant estimate
Use the quote tool — takes about two minutes. Instant estimate based on your device, condition and faults. No obligation.
Step 2 — Offer confirmed
Dan confirms your offer on WhatsApp
Dan reviews your details and confirms the offer — usually within the hour. Nothing is agreed until you're happy.
Step 3 — Postage
Free prepaid label sent to you
Dan sends a prepaid Royal Mail Tracked 24 label. Drop it at any Post Office — nothing to pay, no packaging costs.
Step 4 — Arrival
Dan receives it and messages you
The moment it arrives, Dan messages you to confirm it's safely in. You're never left guessing.
Step 5 — Inspection
Personally inspected — offer confirmed or discussed
Dan inspects the device against what was described. If everything matches, the offer stands. If something's different, Dan will always discuss it openly before anything changes — and you can always have it returned.
And if it turns out to be in better condition than expected, Dan messages you and offers more. He could pay the original offer. He doesn't.
Step 6 — Payment or upgrade
Paid same day — or your upgrade arranged
Bank transfer sent the same day your device arrives. If you're upgrading, Dan arranges your replacement phone — tracked, tested, graded and warranted.

Why Cell Devices is different
Samsung and Google certified. Over 4,026 devices repaired. iPhone specialist who regularly fixes devices other shops have declined. When I assess your phone, it's being looked at by someone who genuinely knows what they're seeing.
When you message on WhatsApp, you're talking to Dan — not a call centre, not an automated system. Every repair, trade-in and query is handled personally.
I pay significantly more for trade-ins than automated buyers — including devices they won't touch. Every refurbished device is graded honestly. What you see is what you get.
Based in Surrey. Local customers can drop off in person. Further afield — everything works by post, fully tracked, fully insured, with a prepaid label included.
