What a proper water damage assessment involves
Drying a phone out is not a repair. Water leaves minerals on the board that keep corroding after the phone feels dry, which is why “it worked for a week” is so common.

Check it is safe to post first
If the phone is hot, swollen, hissing, smoking, badly crushed or the battery is visibly damaged, do not put it in the post, message us on WhatsApp first and we will sort a safe way to get it to us. A damaged lithium battery is restricted by every carrier. If it is simply wet but cool and intact, power it off, do not charge it, dry the outside and send it.

No. Rice does nothing for the water already inside, and starch dust can make things worse. Power the phone off, dry the outside, don’t charge it, and post it to us as soon as you can, but if it is hot or swollen, message us first rather than posting it.
