Welcome to Cell Devices (“we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. About Cell Devices

Cell Devices provides device trade-ins, refurbished phone sales, and repair services. These Terms apply to all users of our website and customers engaging with our services. By submitting a device for trade-in, purchasing a product, or requesting a collection, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Eligibility & Ownership Requirements

To sell a device to us, you must be at least 18 years old and the legal owner of the device. You must confirm that the device is not stolen, lost, blacklisted, or on active finance, and that you have full legal rights to sell it. You also agree that the device will not be reported lost or blacklisted after sale. If a device is later blocked or blacklisted after we purchase it, the customer is fully liable and must return the full payment amount.

3. Trade-In Process

3.1 Getting Your Quote

Customers begin by using the Trade-In Calculator to receive an estimated value. After submitting the trade-in form with accurate device details, a personalised offer is provided within 24 hours.

3.2 Postal Trade-Ins

We offer free pre-paid postage for all postal trade-ins. Once the device arrives, it undergoes our full inspection before payment is issued.

3.3 Local Collection

Local collection is available within 20 miles of Guildford for a £30 non-refundable fee. This fee covers travel, inspection, and instant payment if the sale proceeds. Collection may not be available for severely damaged or untestable devices.

4. Inspection & Revised Offers

Every device undergoes a complete 25-point inspection to verify its functionality and condition. If the device matches the details you submitted, the original offer is honoured. If undisclosed issues are discovered, such as hardware faults, activation locks, weak battery health, unknown part warnings, or physical defects, we will provide a revised offer. Postal customers may accept or decline the revised offer. Declined devices will be returned free of charge.

4.1 Devices We Cannot Purchase

We cannot purchase devices that are iCloud or Google locked, blacklisted, activation locked, severely liquid-damaged, motherboard-damaged, on unpaid finance, or not legally owned by the seller. These devices will be returned to the customer at no cost.

5. Finality of Sale

Once the customer accepts the final offer and payment is issued, the sale becomes final. The device cannot be reclaimed or returned once payment has been made.

6. Payment

Payments for postal trade-ins are issued by bank transfer after inspection. Payments for local collection may be issued by bank transfer or cash following the on-site test.

7. Returns for Devices Purchased From Us

Customers who purchase refurbished devices from Cell Devices may return them within 14 days for a full refund, as long as the device is returned in the same condition and has not suffered any physical or liquid damage. Any accessories provided at purchase must also be returned. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is the responsibility of the customer unless the device is faulty. Trade-in sales are not eligible for return.

8. Warranty

All refurbished devices include warranty depending on their grade. Grade A and Grade B devices include 12 months of warranty, while Grade C devices include 6 months of warranty. Warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, physical damage, faults caused by third-party repairs, or issues caused by software modification. Devices must be returned to us for inspection before warranty claims can be confirmed.

9. Device Grading Standards

Grade A devices have minimal cosmetic wear, strong battery health of 85% or above, and consist of genuine parts. Grade B devices may show moderate wear and may include third-party parts. Grade C devices may have heavier cosmetic wear but remain fully functional. All devices undergo a 25-point inspection regardless of grade, and each purchase includes a free screen protector. Some devices may display an “Unknown Part” warning due to Apple’s system, even when genuine parts have been installed by authorised technicians; this does not affect performance.

10. Customer Data & Privacy

We collect and store customer information such as names, contact details, shipping information, device details, and order notes. This information is used strictly for order processing, trade-in management, fraud prevention, and communication. We do not sell or share customer data with third parties except essential partners such as payment processors, delivery couriers, and accounting systems. All data is handled in accordance with UK GDPR regulations. A detailed explanation is available in our separate Privacy Policy.

11. Cookies

Our website uses cookies to support essential functions such as enabling user sessions, improving site performance, and analysing how customers interact with our website. You consent to the use of cookies by continuing to use our site. Users may disable cookies in their browser, but certain features may not function as intended. More information is available in our Cookies Policy.

12. Liability

Cell Devices is not responsible for the loss of personal data on devices sent for trade-in. Customers are responsible for backing up and wiping their devices before sending them. We are also not liable for delays caused by couriers, inaccuracies in customer-submitted information, or any losses caused by unauthorised repairs after purchase.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The most recent version will always be available on our website.

Mobile Terms of Service

The Cell Devices mobile message service (the "Service") is operated by Cell Devices (“Cell Devices”, “we”, or “us”). Your use of the Service constitutes your agreement to these terms and conditions (“Mobile Terms”). We may modify or cancel the Service or any of its features without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also modify these Mobile Terms at any time and your continued use of the Service following the effective date of any such changes shall constitute your acceptance of such changes.

By consenting to Cell Devices’s SMS/text messaging service, you agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from and on behalf of Cell Devices through your wireless provider to the mobile number you provided, even if your mobile number is registered on any state or federal Do Not Call list. Text messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or other technology. Service-related messages may include updates, alerts, and information (e.g., order updates, account alerts, etc.). Promotional messages may include promotions, specials, and other marketing offers (e.g., cart reminders).

You understand that you do not have to sign up for this program in order to make any purchases, and your consent is not a condition of any purchase with Cell Devices. Your participation in this program is completely voluntary.

We do not charge for the Service, but you are responsible for all charges and fees associated with text messaging imposed by your wireless provider. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan and contact your wireless provider for details. You are solely responsible for all charges related to SMS/text messages, including charges from your wireless provider.

You may opt-out of the Service at any time. Text the single keyword command STOP to CellDevices or click the unsubscribe link (where available) in any text message to cancel. You'll receive a one-time opt-out confirmation text message. No further messages will be sent to your mobile device, unless initiated by you. If you have subscribed to other Cell Devices mobile message programs and wish to cancel, except where applicable law requires otherwise, you will need to opt out separately from those programs by following the instructions provided in their respective mobile terms.

We may change any short code or telephone number we use to operate the Service at any time and will notify you of these changes. You acknowledge that any messages, including any STOP or HELP requests, you send to a short code or telephone number we have changed may not be received and we will not be responsible for honoring requests made in such messages.

The wireless carriers supported by the Service are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide us with a valid mobile number. If you get a new mobile number, you will need to sign up for the program with your new number.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that we will not be liable for failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any information sent through the Service, any errors in such information, and/or any action you may or may not take in reliance on the information or Service.
