Honest, upfront, before anything is agreed
Newer iPhones keep a record of replaced parts in Settings › General › About › Parts and Service History. What it says depends on your model and the part fitted. It is a repair record, not a fault. We’ll tell you which part you’re getting, and what it will show, before we start.

Apple doesn't keep a parts record on these models, so a new screen, battery or camera won't bring up a message.
🍎 iPhone XR, XS & SE
Screen and camera: no message, Apple doesn't record these parts on these models (XS Max included). Battery: Settings may list the battery as “Unknown”, whichever battery we fit, because Apple's repair tool doesn't cover most of these models. Apple says the health figure may be less accurate afterwards.
🍎 iPhone 11 series
Screen: our iPhone 11 screens are aftermarket, so Settings lists the display as “Unknown”. True Tone and auto brightness may not behave exactly as before; we test touch, colour and brightness before it comes back. Battery: may be listed as “Unknown” with any battery, genuine included. Camera: no message.
🍎 iPhone 12 and newer
Aftermarket screen or battery: listed as “Unknown”. New genuine Apple part: listed as “Genuine” once the repair is finished with Apple's Repair Assistant. Reclaimed genuine Apple part (taken from another iPhone): listed as “Used”, Apple's label for a genuine part that has been in another phone. We always try to finish genuine repairs with Apple's Repair Assistant. Occasionally a reclaimed part stays linked to the phone it came from and can't be finished; Settings then keeps its note. It doesn't stop the part working.
📷 Cameras
We fit genuine Apple cameras only, reclaimed from another phone, or brand new on request and quoted separately. On iPhone 12 and newer they show as “Genuine” or “Used”. Apple says camera messages don't affect using the camera.
💬 What does the message mean?
It records that a part was replaced and what kind of part it is. Apple says these messages don't stop you using your iPhone. An “Unknown” label can lower the trade in value elsewhere, and a message on its own doesn't prove a repair is good or bad, which is why we test every repair before it comes back.

Only genuine parts used. Samsung screens go through Samsung's calibration process. Google parts are brand new, not refurbished.

It depends on the model and the part. iPhone 8 and X keep no parts record, so no message. iPhone XR, XS and SE: nothing for the screen or camera; the battery may be listed as 'Unknown' whichever battery we fit. iPhone 11: our aftermarket screens show 'Unknown', the battery may show 'Unknown' with any battery, and the camera shows nothing. iPhone 12 and newer: aftermarket parts show 'Unknown', a new genuine Apple part shows 'Genuine' once finished with Apple's Repair Assistant, and a reclaimed genuine part shows 'Used'. Apple says these messages don't stop you using your iPhone. We'll tell you which part you're getting, and what it will show, before we start.
Often, yes. We regularly fix phones other shops have handed back, including water damaged and dead devices. A £20 diagnostic applies first, it covers the assessment and comes off the repair if it's fixable. We advise honestly before any work is done.
How long depends on the part we fit: 12 months on an aftermarket OLED screen, 6 months on a third party battery and on other parts such as a charging port, camera or back glass, and 3 months on a genuine Apple part (they are reclaimed, so they reach us used) or a budget LCD screen. Your quote says which part and how long before you accept it. It covers the part we fitted and our workmanship, not other parts of the phone, and not liquid or accidental damage.
