⚡ Just a few quick questions
Select device
Pick your phone to get started.
Pick it if you know it: more storage usually sits nearer the top of the range. Not sure? Leave it and we'll check.
Questions first? Message us on WhatsApp.
What would you like to do?
No commitment. Choose what works for you.
Broken or damaged? You'll likely get more here than anywhere else.
What's wrong with it?
Pick the main fault. The questions about it open below, and you can add other faults there too.
⚠ On this model the back glass is bonded to the housing, a full housing replacement is the correct repair.
What's the screen doing?
Select all that apply, helps confirm what type of replacement is needed.
Black screen, flicker or backlight issues can be caused by a connector fault or logic board issue rather than the screen itself. we'll confirm before ordering parts.
💡 iPhone 12+, aftermarket screens show "Unknown" in Settings. A reclaimed genuine Apple screen shows "Used"; a new one shows "Genuine" once finished with Apple's Repair Assistant. Genuine screens keep True Tone.
What's the battery doing?
Select all that apply. Most common signs: dying at 20%+ or draining noticeably faster.
Excessive heat can indicate a swollen or failing battery. Swollen, hot or damaged battery? Message us before posting, we'll arrange a safe way.
What's the damage?
Select all that apply, helps us assess the repair method.
A bent or damaged frame may affect the repair approach and water resistance. We'll assess on arrival.
A screen or back lifting away from the frame is a strong sign of a swollen battery. Do not charge the device. Swollen, hot or damaged battery? Message us before posting, we'll arrange a safe way.
Back glass cracks can allow glass shards to contact the battery. Does the phone feel warm, swollen, or has the back bowed outward?
A warm, swollen or bowed battery may have been pierced by glass. Do not charge the device. Swollen, hot or damaged battery? Message us before posting, we'll arrange a safe way.
What's the camera doing?
Select all that apply, we'll work out whether it's the lens, the module, or both.
Camera function issues
Physical / visual damage
Camera crashes and black screen can sometimes be fixed with a software reset, we'll check before replacing anything.
Dust between the glass and sensor usually means the camera module needs replacing, the lens glass alone won't fix it.
If the camera otherwise works fine and it's just the glass that's cracked, a lens glass replacement (£50) may be all that's needed.
A cracked lens left too long often lets dust and debris into the module, damaging the camera itself. we'll confirm on arrival, we'll quote both as a bundle.
💧 Tell us about the water damage
Select all that apply, helps us prepare the right assessment.
Switch the device off immediately if it's on. Don't charge it. The sooner we can assess and clean the board, the better the chances of recovery. Send as quickly as possible.
What's happening with Face ID?
Select all that apply, helps us understand what's going on.
On iPhone 11 and older, Face ID is paired to the logic board at the factory and cannot be restored, even Apple cannot fix it. we'll confirm on arrival.
If it stopped working after a screen repair, the TrueDepth sensor may have been disturbed, there's a small chance it can be resolved.
iPhone 12 and newer can have Face ID restored using Apple's Self Service Repair programme with professional tools. The part needs to be ordered specifically for your device, we'll confirm the repair is possible before ordering.
⏱ Allow an extra 1 to 3 working days for parts to arrive. We'll keep you updated throughout.
What's happening with the device?
Select all that apply, we'll use this to prepare the right diagnostic.
If "iPhone is disabled", we can attempt a restore. You'll lose data unless you have a backup.
Won't turn on and boot loops can be caused by hardware (battery, logic board). The £20 diagnostic covers both.
£20 diagnostic, comes off the repair cost if we fix it.
What's not working?
Select all that apply, speaker, mic, buttons and small components are all the same price.
Speaker and mic issues are sometimes caused by software or a blocked grille. Try restarting and cleaning the grille gently first.
Small parts priced the same as a charging port repair.
What's happening with charging?
Select all that apply, helps us confirm it's the port and not the cable or battery.
A port that won't seat the cable is often blocked with pocket lint. Try a wooden toothpick to clear debris gently, fixes it for free in many cases.
Port replacement fixes physical port damage, price varies by model.
Tell us about the lens damage
Select all that apply, helps us figure out if it's just the glass or if the module underneath needs replacing too.
Physical damage to the glass
Is the camera itself still working?
Camera works fine, it's just the glass cover. Quick job, no data loss. If the crack is new, this is the right fix.
Blur, spots, vibration and noise usually mean the module underneath has been damaged, often from a cracked lens left too long. we'll confirm on arrival. We'll quote both as a bundle.
Which screen quality?
Both options are quality checked before fitting.
🔋 What's your battery health?
Helps us understand the full picture, even if battery isn't your main repair.
Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging → Maximum Capacity
iPhones below 80% can throttle performance and affect value. We've added battery to your quote, we'll factor it in.

Apart from the faults, how does the rest of it look? * Required
What's your battery health? * Required
Choose the capacity shown in Settings, or Not sure.
Where do I find battery health?
Settings → Battery → Battery Health & Charging → Maximum Capacity.
Draining fast, shutting down or getting hot? Choose Has faults or damage above too, even if battery health is high.
Best done before you send it. iPhone: Settings → your name → Sign Out. Samsung/Google: remove the Google account. Screen dead, or it won't turn on? Remove it at icloud.com (Find Devices → Remove), or give us the passcode when we check it (only so we can test it, never for anything else).
It must be your own phone. Most locks come off with your help in a few minutes, that's how you keep the full offer.
Some phones are locked to the network they were bought from (EE, O2, etc.). Not sure? Pop in another network's SIM, or check with the original provider.
A phone locked to one network is worth less to the next owner, so the range drops by 10%. Unlock it first (often free from the original network) and you get the full price.
A blacklisted IMEI can't be used on UK networks. Not sure? Dial *#06# for the IMEI and check it (e.g. on CheckMEND or with the original network).
If it's your own phone and a network or an insurer has blocked it, we may buy it for parts. Not sure? Check the IMEI on CheckMEND first, a clean result gets you the normal price.
If it has been recovered and the report cleared, check the IMEI on CheckMEND and message us.
The iPhone 7 and 8 range has no trade in value with us any more, but we'll still take it off your hands and recycle it responsibly, free of charge. Send your details and we'll send you a free Royal Mail Tracked 48 label.
If the lock is removed: full estimate above. If it stays locked: a parts price, we buy your own locked phone for parts only.
With no display we can't test it until it's with us. We can usually unlock it with your passcode when we check it (only so we can test it), or you can remove it from your iCloud account (icloud.com → Find Devices → Remove) and we'll wipe it.
We check the IMEI when it arrives. If it turns out to be blocked by a network or insurer, we can only offer a parts price.
A blocked phone can't be resold as working, so there's no automatic price. If it's your own phone we may buy it for parts, send your details and we'll quote you directly.
We never buy a phone that has been reported lost or stolen, so there's nothing more to do on this quote and nothing will be sent. If the report is cleared later, start a new quote and we'll check the IMEI then.
A typical range for this model. We confirm your offer by email once you've filled in the short buying form.
If the phone matches what you've told us, your offer is inside this range: towards the top for the best of its grade, towards the bottom for more wear or a weaker battery within what you told us. If we find something different, we show you exactly what and you decide.

Common questions
iPhone repair by post, UK mail in service
Cell Devices is a specialist iPhone, Samsung and Google Pixel repair service based in Guildford, Surrey. Most repairs come to us by post from across the UK, and customers with a GU postcode can drop off or have it collected. Every repair is handled by our technicians: Apple Self Repair trained, with 4+ years of hands on experience across all modern iPhone models. There are no middlemen, no call centres, and no hidden fees.
Common repairs include iPhone screen replacement (cracked glass, touch issues, OLED lines), iPhone battery replacement (third party or genuine Apple OEM), back glass and housing repair, camera module and lens replacement, Face ID restoration (iPhone 12 and newer), and charging port repair. Samsung Galaxy screen, battery, and back glass repairs are also available, as are Google Pixel screen and battery replacements.
How mail in repair works
Use the quote tool above to describe your device and fault. We email you a short repair form, then a price to accept before you send anything. Once you accept, we send a prepaid Royal Mail label (Tracked 24 for devices worth under £150, or Special Delivery, insured up to £750, for £150 or more), so postage costs you nothing. The price only changes if we find something different once it's here, and then you decide. It's repaired and returned within 3 to 5 working days door to door. Every repair carries a warranty on the part we fit and our workmanship: 12 months on an aftermarket OLED screen, 6 on a third party battery and most other parts, 3 on a genuine Apple part or a budget LCD. See the warranty page for the full list.
Sell or trade in your old iPhone
Cell Devices buys used and broken iPhones for cash or as a trade in toward a refurbished replacement. Devices in almost any condition are accepted, cracked screens, water damage, faulty, or not turning on. We cannot buy a phone that is reported lost or stolen, one with finance still outstanding on it, or one that is not legally yours to sell. A phone of your own that is blocked by a network or an insurer, or locked to an iCloud or Google account you cannot remove, we may still buy for parts. Trade in credit is worth more than a cash sale, and the quote shows both figures side by side. Offers come from our own pricing, which follows recent sales where we have them, and are confirmed after we review your device personally.
